Seattle's very own Choklate releases her first official video... Sun's Out & Grown Folks - this video is like night and day... 2 of my favorite songs off her new album To Whom It May Concern in one video. Can i talk about the homie Choklate for a minute? When i was traveling / living on the road for like 6 months this last year, i had a couple homies in my headphones whose music held me close, and made me feel at home and proud to be from the town wherever i went. One of those homies is Choklate. Her voice grabs you, holds you real close, and doesn't let go for the length of an entire album. I was addicted to her last album, the self-titled Choklate CD, and this new one is even more personal... i think her songwriting is very vulnerable and powerful at the same time, if that makes sense... true soul music... it's something i love and strive to do with my isht as well. An inspiration. All this to say, homegirl is dope, if your not hip, you should check this video and then go purchase all her CD's right now! Much love Chok!!!
