Mic Flont "Duality"

Mic Flont - Duality

Check my family Mic Flont's debut solo album "Duality" which just released this last week! Mic is one of those rare people who have tirelessly put in work for other artists and for youth in Seattle, pretty much as long as I've known him. It's great to see him releasing a solo project, and I'm proud of him for everything he put into this album too. By the way, I've got a cameo appearance on the first track "Branches On The Tree" alongside the amazing Mikaela Romero! Other features on the album include KA.lil, Hollis Wong-Wear, Kasi, Inkubiz, Jon B. Nieto and Massiah with production from Phreewil, Uce Wayne and BeanOne. You can name your own price and get it on bandcamp today!

Gabriel Teodros "Mind Power" Official Video

A lot of changes as always... and yes, I've been better at keeping the Twitter & Facebook updated. Released a new video a few mornings ago... this one is for "Mind Power" off that Colored People's Time Machine album released earlier this year. BeanOne produced the track, and the homie Mandeep Sethi filmed this video one cloudy morning in San Francisco.

I also wanted to let you know under the Events page on this website, I just added a calendar widget that will continuously keep you posted for all my upcoming shows... in the next few weeks I'll be performing in Toronto, Montreal and then back in Seattle doing my first ever TED Talk!

Also want to thank everyone who came through the show we had last weekend at Washington Hall in Seattle with Bocafloja, Stephany Koch Hazelrigg and EarDr.Umz the MetroGnome. That was a beautiful night that truly restored my faith in community and the work we're out here doing. Thank you Seattle!!! It's nice to be home.

Gabriel Teodros "Blossoms Of Fire" Music Video

I feel like the last person to post my own video... if you haven't seen it, here it is! The lead track off "Colored People's Time Machine" which drops in less then one weeks time! If your in Seattle you get to see this project come to life LIVE @ Chop Suey this Thursday, January 19th. Tickets here.

So the song and video "Blossoms Of Fire" were inspired by a beautiful, inspiring film of the same name, which follows the extraordinary lives of the Isthmus Zapotec people in Southern Oaxaca, Mexico. The film gave me a new way of thinking about matriarchy among other things, as well as more fire to keep going in the fight for cultural survival.  The lyrics reference the film in a few places, but it's still kind of just a kodak moment of where I was, the moment after seeing it.  And when I wrote this? I was in Washington, DC letting something new blossom after something old went into flames... I'll just leave it at that.  The video was directed by my amazing sisters Barni Qaasim and Shadi Rahimi who each do such important and inspiring work... around the entire planet!  And I'm so honored that they took time out to do this piece (and Barni's organizing in like no time at all? whoa.)  It's a very Bay Area video... that's The Mission in San Francisco, Lake Merritt and Fruitvale in Oakland, CA.  Much love to all the sisters who are featured in the piece... and to Dume41 and to Khingz... wouldn't of been the same without you, for real! Track produced by BeanOne aka Beancognito aka that dude Khingz got a new project coming out with too (watch out!) ...Fresh Chopped Beats!  This video is dope because of the people around me, word up. This is true for life as well.
