all around the country...

...just got word my sista Wayna was arrested at the Houston airport, for carrying a lil collapsible police baton, a stage prop she uses when she performs her song Billy, which ironically is a song about police brutality. (you can hear it on her myspace page) ...to top that off she got charged with a 3rd degree felony?! i'm furious. keep her in your prayers ya'll... i'll let you know more as i find out.

on another note i'm also just hearing about the homie JR from Block Report Radio who's facing some bogus charge in the Bay... and the homies Rodstarz & G-1 from Rebel Diaz were on trial in New York this week too... they're charge? "obstruction of justice & resisting arrest" ...they just asked for a badge number when they saw a street vendor being harrassed... instead they got beat down and arrested and it's all on youtube.

all around the country it's the same thing. fuck a police state... we gotta stand together ya'll

That shit with your girl is so scary. I especially become afraid for the sisters.

Incidents like these are causing concern internationally. Airports are such sensitive ground that it seems anything is permissible. And people allow shit like this to happen 'cause they feed into the rhetoric of fear being used persuade them that such measures are being implemented to protect "us" from "them." That us/them business is a false dichotomy, but people become so afraid they buy into it. So any argument then (in the name of national security) is seen as reasonable. I saw a group of South Asians get interrogated simply because one of them switched lines at customs (one line was shorter than the other..).

More people need to start paying attention.
