The dedicated record-digging duo of DJ Ian Head and emcee Verbal Math, aka Dollabin, are pleased to present their latest release: Styles You Can't Afford, a full-length player digitally available at dollabin.com. The album is a dedicated cheap price tags, mom and pop record stores, thumbing through crates, flea markets and just a love of old wax. DJ Ian Head has dug through hundreds of bins to construct a beat framework of loops, chops and old static, while Verbal Math takes you into the mind of not just a hip-hop or record head, but a true music lover. Basically, insightful rhymes and crunchy beats.

At dollabin.com you can download the full LP or individual tracks, as well as read liner notes, all for free. A full track listing is below. We hope you enjoy.

dj ian head presents: "pieces"
on root70lounge / everydaybeats

so i want to announce my latest project, a mostly-instrumental album titled "pieces" being released digitally by root70lounge, a label in japan. it's 20 tracks of beats from various parts of my life, made from stacks of records and life in nyc. there are a few dope guest emcees (and close friends), such as khingz and gabriel teodros (abyssinian creole), verbal math (dollabin), omega jackson and subtext.

the album is available now on juno downloads and japanese itunes. i am also pressing limited edition cds (100) with original photos / artwork and liner notes.

along with the full album, over the next couple months i am releasing a three-part series of digital singles that will include some of the tracks from the album plus remixes and bonus cuts. these singles will be available for FREE but only for a LIMITED period of time. the first is available below, entitled "the nyc series (pts 1-3)."

i know we live in an era of free mp3s, but i hope you can take a second and support this project. all cds ordered will include original cd copies of past releases, such as subtext's "opening salvo" ep and the first dollabin ep.

you can preview the album at root70lounge.com/djianhead.

thanks for everyone's support! look forward to more new music later this year.

NEW **FREE**DOLLABIN DIGITAL SINGLE:
Cold Chillin b/w Dreamz

Verbal Math and DJ Ian Head have been in the lab putting the final touches on their album Styles You Can't Afford, the follow-up to 2006 One More Crate... EP. In anticipation of the album we're releasing a "digital single" with two songs from the LP: the crate-lovers throwback cut, "Cold Chillin'" along with "Dreamz," which features the homie Gabriel Teodros of Abyssinian Creole (Pick up his solo album on iTunes!!). In addition to these tracks, we've added a couple bonus cuts - a vocal version of "Oh," from the earlier EP, along with basement classic "Rusty Shovels Pt. 2" featuring longtime partner in crime Omega Jackson.

To download the single, please click here.

We've included instrumental versions of "Cold Chilin" and "Dreamz," and vocal versions are radio-show playable.

Please pass on the word!
